Fashion

I preface The History of Fashion and Dress with this statement, because I don’t actually see this course as just a history of different bits of clothing worn in different time periods, but rather as a "History of Western Civilization" course as taught by a female, white, middle class, middle aged costume designer, who thinks that what is important isn’t what people wore, but why they wore it. And who thinks that the history of fashion and dress is the history of everyone. Where the history of politics primarily concerns the power struggles of the upper classes, and the history of war, the power struggles of men, fashion history is about struggles between rich and poor, men and women, East and West, and indigenous populations and colonists.
Clothing for me is a beautiful visual demonstration of the social and emotional needs of it’s wearers, and as such, shows in a clearly understood visual way what people of differing times and cultures wanted socially. Western Fashion is a good beginning, in that it has gone through so many rapid changes and bizarre extremes that it has examples of nearly every kind of clothing function. So I will teach a brief over view of my "history" of Western Civilization, as seen by a female, white, middle class, middle aged costume designer, through The History of Fashion and Dress. Naturally, this being the case, it will illuminate what I think is important in history: aesthetics, the position of women, technological innovations in garment manufacture, sex fetishism, personal self expression, social and political revolutions, and of course, clothes

E-banking

Pay The Bill Throuh Online:
Bill payments:
For others, bill payment represents the final frontier of the Internet: Can I trust a computer program to pay my bills cleanly, or should I just stick with writing checks and licking stamps?
If you are tired of piling paper clutter and managing due dates for bills, get ready to cross the border into electronic bill payment. You will be happy to learn that online bill payment is not only easy, but more and more banks in the region are offering the service for free.
Get started
On your e-banking website, you will typically find guides or FAQs that walk you through the steps of how to register the accounts you wish to pay from and payee accounts you wish to pay to. You only need to enter the account information once; your online banking site will keep those accounts available until you remove them. You can always change the accounts from which you wish to pay your bills and add more payees as needed. Most banks offer this service to cover utility companies and a handful of other recurring billers.
Making payments
Once you have registered the accounts you wish to pay online, the next step is to schedule payment. You simply select the account you wish to pay from, the payee account you wish to pay to and the amount you wish to pay. Your creditors receive your online payment in one of two ways: electronic payment or check. If the payee is set up to accept electronic payments, your payment is automatically debited from the account you select and deposited electronically into their account, just as if you had written a check. If the payee cannot accept electronic payments, and most businesses cannot, they will be issued a check based on your online paymentinstructions, hence your bank's 3-5 day grace period.
Tracking your payments

Naturally, you want to make sure your online bill payments get processed correctly and on time. You should always check your accounts 1-2 days after your request date to verify that your bill payment request has been executed. You should also remember that it could take several days for your creditor to apply the payment to your account. For peace of mind, you may want to request that your bank send an alert to your e-mail, wireless device or online banking website when a payment clears. As with account transfers, you may want to print the transaction-completed or receipt page when you pay your bills online as a reminder to make sure they post on your e-banking site or in your next statement.

why to choose a Satellite Provider: Dish Network?

As with everything, satellite providers have competition. The great thing to know is that there are only two, Dish Network and DirecTV.Dish Network has not been on the scene as long as DirecTV, but this does not mean the quality is not present.

Dish Network provides over 250 channels to any satellite family. They have several packages so that you can choose if you want movie, sports, and other channels.Like most even cable, Dish Network provides the lower channels such as USA, FOX, NBC, and those like them in every package. This means you can just have these channels or you can add specialty channels like HBO, Starz, and the sports channels.Dish Network also provides Sirius satellite radio channels.

When you are looking to buy satellite tv, keep in mind that you need to have the equipment from Dish Network in order to use their service. Each satellite company has a signal that recognizes the individual dishes. This is how they know which channels you have paid for and which ones you have not. This also tells them that you are up to date on payments and have not cancelled service. If you have a DirecTV dish, but no longer wish to use their service for whatever reason, you will need to buy new equipment. There are deals out there to make this process a little less painful on your pocket book.Another thing to keep in mind is that both satellite providers offer the same types of packages for around the same cost.Often one company has different channels.

The Difference With Cable vs. Satellite TV

You might be wondering what difference there is in cable vs. satellite TV. You might think it is just the way you receive the signal and in large that part it is. There are other differences as well. Let us look at a few of those differences below.Cable vs. Satellite TV can often seem like a hard question to answer. Cable television is provided by a coaxial cable. This cable actually runs a great distance to reach your television. It is very easy for your cable signal to waver in and out because of this coaxial cable. Interference can be great if there is a storm and it knocks the lines down or if someone is working on the road and accidentally hits the wires in the ground. This is not to say cable is a bad choice. Cable also can be digital, which gives you are better, clearer quality signal than regular TV. You also have to have a cable box if you have digital cable. The cost of cable for channels you receive is usually a little bit more than satellite TV especially if you want to add movie channels.

When considering Cable vs. Satellite TV, you need to consider how you receive the signal; you actually receive an uninterrupted signal from the satellite when you have a satellite dish. You do have to have a receiver and it takes a little bit to get the satellite oriented on the signal, but you only have to worry about the coaxial cable going from the receiver to the television, so the signal is usually clearer on satellite. In addition, the satellite is digital as long as you have a television that receives the digital signal you will be able to receive a digital picture.
